Lecture Organized on “International Year of Cooperatives – 2025”

A lecture on the topic International Year of Cooperatives – 2025 was organized at M.A. Parikh Fine Arts & Arts College, Palanpur, managed by the Banaskantha District Kelavani Mandal. The United Nations has declared the year 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives across the globe. In line with this, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, officially announced the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 on 25th November 2024.The lecture covered important topics such as the role of cooperative institutions and societies in the development of the nation, their scope of work, promotion and expansion, responsibilities in socio-economic development, and an introductory overview of the United Nations. NSS Programme Officer Dr. Khushbuben Chaudhary delivered a lecture addressing these themes. Additionally, India’s Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amitbhai Shah, formally inaugurated the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 in Mumbai and addressed the gathering. He highlighted key subjects including the contribution of social institutions in India's cooperative sector, cooperative banking institutions, the establishment of India’s first cooperative university in Tribhuvan, and the role of the youth in the cooperative development of agricultural and rural areas in the near future.The entire event was organized under the guidance of the college principal, Dr. Rameshkumar B. Patel. The program was conducted by Sanskrit Department’s Dr. Niravbhai Kansara, and the concluding remarks were delivered by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Ganpatbhai Chaudhary.
