A program of Sugam Sangeet on "Ramesh Parekh"

A program of Sugam Sangeet on "Ramesh Parekh" was organized jointly by Geet Sangeet Nritya Dhara and Gujarati Department of Government Arts College, Amirgadh on September 19, 2024. 

In this program, Mitesh Goswami, Urvashi Prajapati, Honey Rana, Payal Solanki, Yash Thakor, Deepika Joshi, students of Music Department of M. A. Parikh Fine Arts College, Palanpur mesmerized the entire audience with their vocal rendition of Ramesh Parekh's songs.  

The program was beautifully managed by Prof. Rajat Mehta of the Department of Music under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Rameshbhai B. Patel.

Bhajan Sandhya

On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 9:00 PM, a Bhajan Sandhya was organized as part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) camp conducted by M.A. Parikh Fine Arts & Arts College, Palanpur at Khemana village. Under the guidance of Prof. Rajat Mehta from the Music Department of M.A. Parikh Fine Arts & Arts College, Palanpur, students Urvashi Prajapati, Hani Parmar, Vishnu Desai, Mitesh Goswami, and Vishwas Darji mesmerized the villagers with their melodious singing and instrumental performances. Their contributions enhanced the reputation of the college through their soulful renditions.

Organization of a Workshop on Indian Classical Music Notation

A three-day workshop on Indian Classical Music Notation was organized by the Music Department of M.A. Parikh Fine Arts & Arts College, Palanpur, managed by Banas Kantha District Kelavani Mandal, on January 30-31 and February 1.

Dr. Samyak Parekh, a faculty member from P.K. Kotawala Arts College, Patan, graced the workshop as an expert and provided valuable guidance to the students of the Music Department on the intricacies of Indian classical music notation.

The entire workshop was successfully conducted under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Rameshbhai B. Patel and was organized by Prof. Rajatbhai Mehta from the Music Department.

Musical Night Celebration

A successful “Musical Night” was organized on April 10, 2025, at 9:00 PM by the students of the Music Department of M.A. Parikh Fine Arts & Arts College, Palanpur, managed by Banaskantha District Kelavani Mandal, at the renowned Toran Club in Palanpur.

The evening was made melodious with captivating performances of film songs, Gujarati folk songs, and popular melodies. The vocalists — Urvashi Prajapati, Hani Rana, Yash Thakor, Shubham Barot, Vishnu Desai, Lay Jagtap, and Zheel Gupta — mesmerized the audience with their melodious voices.

In accompaniment, Yatish Parmar on keyboard, Om Katariya and Mitesh Goswami on tabla, and Jatin Kunvariya on clap box gave excellent instrumental support, adding brilliance to the overall event.

A special highlight of the evening was the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by the audience. Many spectators joined in the singing and danced along with the performers, expressing their love for music. The Toran Club also presented souvenirs to mark the occasion.

Heartfelt gratitude was extended to Professor Mr. Rajat Mehta of the Music Department and Principal Mr. Rameshkumar B. Patel, whose guidance and inspiration enabled the students to deliver such a splendid performance. Thanks were also expressed to the Toran Club for providing the venue, arrangements, and support in making the event a grand success.
